Good oral hygiene is very important for the health of your teeth and gums. The main task of a dental hygienist is to prevent problems in your teeth. By visiting the dental hygienist regularly, you can prevent oral problems and receive expert advice on oral hygiene.

When can I see the dental hygienist in The Hague?

The dentist will refer you to the dental hygienist or prevention assistant to work with this expert on optimal oral hygiene and oral health. Usually, a recall once every six months is sufficient, but in case of periodontitis, a recall after 3 to 4 months may be necessary.

This also applies if you suffer from:

receding gums;
a bad taste in your mouth;
tartar and deposits;
a dry mouth;
red and swollen and/or painful gums;

What is the difference between a dental hygienist and a dentist?

There is a distinct difference between a dentist and a dental hygienist. A dental hygienist focuses, specifically, on prevention and oral care to prevent and control gum disease (such as periodontitis) and tooth decay. The dentist focuses mainly on restoring and improving teeth.

Do I need a referral from the dentist to see the dental hygienist?

No, you do not need a referral to see the dental hygienist. In some cases, you will receive a referral from your dentist, but this is not a requirement to visit the dental hygienist.

At Tandheelkundig Centrum Frederikstraat in The Hague, a dental hygienist is already present. Do you have any questions about this? Please contact us.

 Trustindex verifieert dat de oorspronkelijke bron van de recensie Google is. As a Physician, I need dental services that are excellent from a technical and client service standpoint. As well, it is a challenge for expats in Den Haag to identify optimal dental services. I met Dr Azzi Alshangi in 2024 when he had been working part time at another dental clinic, and his technical and social skills were so outstanding that I decided to follow him when he established his practice. On my first visit in August 2026, the reception staff (Sandra, Sam) were polite and respectful, and the intake services of Milan, a Dental Assistant, were thorough and outstanding. Dr. Alshangi was as professional and informative as in 2024. From a medical and expat perspective, I cannot recommend this dental clinic enough.

Volgende week maandag deel 2. Erg prettig geholpen in een mooie praktijk. Fijn kunnen communiceren via Whatsapp.
